About

I am an engineer and creative technologist specializing in gesture recognition and machine learning.

I currently work for Google's Advanced Technology and Projects group, where I lead the machine learning for Project Soli.

Prior to joining Google, I ran a machine-learning consulting company and also worked for Samsung.

From 2011/2013, I was a post-doctoral associate and Fulbright Scholar at the MIT Media Lab, with the Responsive Environments research group.

I completed my Ph.D. in 2011 at the Sonic Arts Research Center, with my thesis on Gesture Recognition for Musician Computer Interaction. I completed my B.Sc. in Music Technology, and MA in Sonic Arts at Queen's University Belfast.
